A working white paper on the difference between legal rights in creative work and a persistent creator-facing record of identity, timing, provenance, and evidence.
1. The distinction
Copyright law is principally about legal rights in original creative expression. In the United States, copyright generally arises when an original work is fixed in a tangible medium. Copyright Office registration does not create the underlying copyright; it registers a claim and provides important legal and procedural benefits.
That is different from documenting the work's practical existence and history. A creator may also need an easy-to-reference record showing what file existed, when it was recorded or sealed, what identity was attached to it, what metadata accompanied it, what provenance the creator supplied, and what happened to the artifact afterward.
That is the lane SpinStream is designed to serve.

3. A museum/archive vocabulary for digital artifacts
SpinStream can borrow familiar collection-language rather than inventing arbitrary meanings:

4. Product ladder
Permanent Mark — $4.99
Establishes the work's identity and starting record with an AIN, timestamp, permanent SpinStream address and basic public Registry entry.
Standard Seal — $35
Deepens the record through a Rich Catalog Record and a signed SpinStream–OnlyUno Handshake Artifact Witness Report. The report can document exact filename, file type and size, cryptographic fingerprint, creator-supplied provenance, timestamps, relevant system versions, SpinStream finalization, OnlyUno receipt, Registry/Ledger references and the witnessed handoff between systems.
Blockchain Seal — $75
Assembles the deeper records into a complete Proof Dossier and independently anchors the proof to a blockchain. The blockchain does not determine authorship or ownership. Its role is independent corroboration of the sealed proof record and, where desired, preparation for future NFT/token pointing.
5. The handshake witness
The Standard Seal becomes materially stronger when it documents not only what SpinStream says about itself, but a technical handoff between SpinStream and OnlyUno. Sentinel's role is to witness the artifact and the handoff: SpinStream finalized an identified artifact, sent the identified record, OnlyUno received or acknowledged the corresponding record, and the resulting public references were preserved.
A simplified evidence chain is:
Creator → Work → File Fingerprint → SpinStream → Seal → Handoff → OnlyUno → Registry/Ledger → Signed Artifact Witness Report.
6. Public proof and private work
The full creative file does not have to be publicly exposed merely to create a record. A cryptographic fingerprint can identify the exact file while the public record preserves the timestamp, AIN, metadata and creator claim. A later copy of the same file can be hashed again and compared to the recorded fingerprint.
7. The working principle
SpinStream does not create copyright, determine ownership, guarantee admissibility, guarantee legal outcomes, or replace Copyright Office registration or legal advice. Creator-supplied provenance is preserved as a creator statement unless separately verified.
